explore authentic nicaragua

Nicaragua, the still-unexplored heart of Central America: surf & swim empty beaches, ride horseback into a village lost in time and unwind with daily yoga.

Then complete a micro-volunteer project & give back something sustainable & positive to a local community in need.

Did you know? Roughly 40% of this expedition can be tax deductible.

We designed the itinerary to be flexible and allow you to challenge yourself, and chill out, in whatever combination feels best. Then turn that positive energy into a short, achievable, hands-on volunteer project.

That's the difference between being a tourist and being a Roadmonkey.

Requires a 5-person minimum. Single supplement available upon request.

how challenging are expeditions to nicaragua?

This expedition allows you determine your own pace, rate of exploration and daily challenge, whether taking your first surfing lesson, exchanging a language lesson with a local or running along an empty beach. (Volunteering requires only enthusiastic, unskilled labor - you're perfect!)

"I LOVED my Roadmonkey Nica trip. We all got along splendidly. I am so glad I was lucky enough to see the MHC advertisement and get in on a Roadmonkey trip. My goal was just to be able to do it, and I did. I feel very satisfied and happy."

"This trip was fun, it was hard work, it was empowering, and it was eye opening. I am SO PROUD of what the kids accomplished, what the teachers/parents/community accomplished, and yes, what we all accomplished."

What Our Clients Have to Say About Roadmonkey:

What you are doing has had a huge affect on all of us, internally. Externally, there is a playground where there was none and a bit more hope than there was just a week ago. There are ties forged by the experience that go both ways, and cross oceans, that will never be undone. It's a beautiful thing.
~ John, architect

Thank you for an incredible trip. I was surprised to return from travel to a new land feeling rejuvenated by and indebted to a group of people I traveled with. We Roadmonkeys dug our toes into foreign soil and I got the feeling that, in a little over a week, we were let in on some of the secrets Peru keeps from travelers of convenience.
~ McKenna, hedge fund administrator

I was hoping for a trip through which I would learn about and participate in another culture and be challenged mentally, emotionally and physically in a relatively safe format. The Roadmonkey trip fulfilled and, then, wildly exceeded all my expectations.
